A study of odors and food

I realize that rotting seaweed isn’t the problem after all. It’s most likely the laundry basket. My mum seems to have given up the idea of doing the laundry daily, so… I’m suffering from it.

Also, I realized that pasta- or noodle-based foods seem to be very odorous. I can smell the damned seasoning/flavoring oil for my favorite brand of instant noodles for like up to a day or two after I’m done with it. And believe me - it tastes good, but the smell isn’t quite so good after two days. Trust me on this.

Another regular smell (that isn’t quite so bad) is that of spaghetti sauce. My parents came across this ‘revolutionary’ new product which is basically some semifrozen spaghetti complete with potato pieces, sausage/meat slices, and the meat sauce (duh). The preparation method’s just microwaving it for 5 minutes while leaving some thin film on it. Apparently the air trapped under the film superheats and expands and forms an air bubble which gradually deflates by venting through tiny holes in the film, and after 5 minutes the film will be close to the food again, and simply peel it off to serve. It’s becoming a regular feature of my diet.

AND ON A COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOTE, MATSU TAKAKO ROCKS!!!! (She reminds me of Huimin, only even prettier… 0.0)
