Musings about 純白サンクチュアリィ
Well I have been occupied these days. Note the use of the word ‘occupied’, as opposed to ‘busy’.
Well basically…
This song has been occupying me a fair bit. Other than the mysterious OMG-I-AM-GOING-NUTS-OVER-THIS-SONG-FOR-SOME-UNKNOWN-REASON factor that is undoubtedly present, there are several ‘logical’ justifications for my obsession.
FIRST. The singer’s Chihara Minori (茅原実里), of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu fame (apparently some people never figured out who played the MOE-est SSnY character… *tsk tsk*). And of course she sounds almost exactly like she did in this, which implies A MOE EXPLOSION.
SECOND. The lyricist is Hata Aki (畑亜貴), who INCIDENTALLY did most of the good SSnY songs (including God knows…). Though her lyrics are practically invariably confusing, abstract, flowery and even a nightmare to even THINK about translating, they are GOOD. BRILLIANT. FANTASTIC. You get the drift.
Hence… I SHALL TRANSLATE THIS SONG! It’s merely a question of time…
But the problem is… I am already stumped by the first line, which goes…
羽の色 白い言葉 純粋へと戻る
Now PLEASE tell me that there’s a better way to do this than “With words white as feathers, let us return to innocence”.
Oh wait.
That wasn’t so bad actually, was it? ^^
But wait.
Does the term 純白サンクチュアリィ even make SENSE?
“Snow-white sanctuary”…
Guess it does.
Sort of.
In a very Hata Aki-way with Chihara Minori-style emo.
TEH WIN.
Of course.

Would you like to look at me from the WRONG side of an arrow fitted and drawn?

Wrong side for me, or wrong side for you?
