I noticed that some sources put the pronunciation of the title as ‘Kouya Ruten’. This is not wrong if one goes on the basis of a contemporary interpretation of the words themselves, and I personally have no idea what the ‘official’ pronunciation is. I shall attempt to explain why I chose ‘Ryuuten’ although using this romaji won’t produce the word in a standard word processor.
The on reading for 流 is normally ‘ryuu’. That much I know. However, to type the word the pronunciation ‘ruten’, which is a sort of special reading for 流 (’ru’ in place of ‘ryuu’), is required.
According to my dictionary, ‘ryuuten’ is CORRECT. It is probably an old reading for the word. Also, look at the first two words of the title, 荒野. The correct and common if not the only reading is ‘Kouya’, which has a long sound for the ‘Ko’. Now, try pronouncing the two variants: ‘Kouya Ryuuten’ and ‘Kouya Ruten’. Which sounds smoother? It seems odd to have three ‘mora’ (basic unit of sound in Japanese) in the first part and then just two in the second (’n’ in this case doesn’t count as an extra mora). Knowing the Japanese fascination for ‘balance’, it seems odd for ‘Kouya Ruten’ to be the pronunciation. Even to the unschooled in Japanese, it just doesn’t sound as smooth as ‘Kouya Ryuuten’.
Hence, I put forth that the pronunciation is ‘Kouya Ryuuten’. Unless there is official proof that I am wrong, I’m standing by this.
I am listening to 奇跡のかけら, the ED of ときめきメモリアル OnlyLove. And guess what the song reminds me of?
This song is about the only good thing in the anime series which is getting really irritating…
But anyway this translation went pretty quickly, though the language difficulty is high, but nothing a decent dictionary can’t fix. And no, JDIC doesn’t cut it.
UPDATE: translation edited. Nothing helps like a few days’ break and a fresh perspective of things. Might not be the last edit though, knowing myself. ^^

As I have been of late spending way too much time at work doing somewhat unimportant things and getting paid, I haven’t quite had the time or energy to get down to some projects.
I should at least sort of jot down what songs I must have translated before the holidays end.
Class A Priority:
Andante アンダンテ D.C.S.S. by 白河ことり(堀江由衣)
Natsu Machi 夏待ち Aria the Natural by ROUND TABLE Featuring Nino
Shiosai 潮騒 Aria the Natural by ROUND TABLE Featuring Nino
Class B onwards number way too many, so I shan’t bother.
I also received my JLPT1 test voucher. Though I am pretty sure it’s lost by now it’ll turn up soon enough. ^^
I was staying up late to settle some forms when I just randomly happened to watch part of episode 12 of よみがえる空 -Rescue Wings-. I don’t exactly know why, but I just felt like writing a little about it.
I was surfing Animelyrics when I just randomly clicked on the Gundam SEED songs sections to check out the translations. To my horror, they were nearly all subpar (not like the SEED DESTINY section which has large proportions done by Paper-chan, bless him). Since of all the Gundam SEED songs I like FIND THE WAY most, I couldn’t really take it lying down. I decided to do a translation of my own, though I know full well that the first translator has a much better reputation than me and has numerous works on the site. However I will stand by my translation on this one. Simply put: hers doesn’t do the song anywhere near enough justice, whilst mine’s better, though by no means perfect. In any case, it’s up to you to judge.

I am currently near death.
Here’s why.
Talk about good videos. Here’s one.
And with Singapore possessing a SINGLE Elections department building… I wonder. ^^
EDIT: The link no longer works. I tried but I can’t seem to find the video. Oh well. Too bad. >_<
