The Movie Pwnage of Japan

Just returned to my Ikebukuro temporary residence from the cinema. Watched Da Vinci Code (albeit a lot more expensively and with Japanese subtitles, which I greatly appreciated for no apparent reason) and Deathnote: The Movie. For the uninitiated, Deathnote is a rather nice manga series currently available from your nearest Kinokuniya bookstore! Chinese translations are available for the losers and the lazy.

Anyway… just some brief comments. The Da Vinci Code movie was screwed up. Too fast, badly paced, and left much to be desired. But Audrey was kind of nice so not too many complaints. :3

Deathnote covered only like the first 2-4 volumes or something, can’t really remember since I stopped reading the series out of sheer laziness. The movie wasn’t too bad, but the CG of the god of death was kinda lame. Low budget, i guess. The various girls/women who appeared were generally aesthetically attractive, again no complaints there. But it leaves me feeling cheated since the movie itself covered so little content and I spent over 1500 yen on the related merchandise… >.<

Fanboyness has its price…

Anyway, Japan rocks.

(P.S. I bought 3 Japanese flags of different sizes. :3)
